PHL Ambassador's interview at Atiawa TOA FM

As part of the Embassy’s public diplomacy initiatives and promotional efforts for the forthcoming New Zealand 2015 Tour of the Loboc Children’s Choir (LCC), Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez was interviewed by Mr. Noel Woods of Atiawa Toa FM radio station regarding the New Zealand Tour of the Loboc Children’s Choir on 27 May 2015. During the interview, Ambassador Benavidez highlighted the series of concerts, cultural exchanges, school visits and students interaction which twenty-three gifted primary and secondary students from Bohol will be undertaking in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch from 03 to 20 June 2015. The LCC will showcase Filipino musical artistry and cultural heritage and share their GOD-given talents in the performing arts with the Filipinos, students, youth and communities in the North and South Islands of Aotearoa. Their series of cultural performances aptly entitled “Voices to the World” feature the far reaching impact and inspiration of LCC as they celebrate cultures, connect with countries and communicate with peoples in the global scene through music.

The LCC’s journey of friendship and goodwill, cultural immersion, educational linkages and people-to-people connectivity will start in Auckland where a gala performance in collaboration with the Aotea Youth Symphony and the Auckland Girls’ Choir will be held at the Auckland Town Hall on 6 June 2015.

In Wellington, the LCC’s gala evening will be held on 12 June 2015 at the Pipitea Marae in collaboration with the Wellington Young Voices. Christchurch will see the LCC holding a cultural performance with the Christchurch Boys Choir at the Celebration Events Centre on 20 June 2015. Ambassador Benavidez invited the radio listeners and the public to watch and enjoy the LCC’s cultural performances with young musicians and choir groups in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
