Ric and Emma de Vera, the head of the Golfing Delegation from Sydney, Australia, together with Bert and Lita Bugayong, Obet and Cristina Bolina, Gaddee and Lourdes Soriano, Greg and Grace Gueco and Art Bandian called on Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez and shared their excitement for the wonderful opportunity to strengthen the bonds of friendship on and off the fairways and the passion for the game that everyone loves most. Ambassador Benavidez, warmly welcomed them to “Ang Bahay” and interacted with them on golfing activities in New Zealand and projects that will bring together Filipinos from New Zealand and Australia for joint trade, investment, tourism, people-to-people and humanitarian projects.

The guests enjoyed distinctly Filipino cuisine of pork cracklings, prawn crackers, molo soup (chicken dumplings in soup), puto, cheesy red onion roll, fresh vegetable springroll, pork barbecue, buttered prawns in cereal, chunky fruits and chocolate ice cream in dome and taho (soya beans in syrup and tapioca/sago pearls).

With Archie and Liza Milo and Soli Noval, the Filipino golfers reiterated their deep appreciation to Ambassador Benavidez for the hospitality which truly made them feel at home and proud of Filipino talents and togetherness as golfers and in their respective roles and responsibilities.
