A call for prayer and support for Nepal

/ news

As grim figures indicating the scale of massive devastation from the devastating Himalayan earthquake on 25 April 2015 continue to shock and sadden Nepal and the rest of the world, the Philippine Embassy requests the Filipino community in New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Cook Islands to fervently pray for GOD’s comfort and protection for Nepal, its government and people. Let us all be one in GOD as we manifest our unshakeable faith in HIM in prayer as we stand in solidarity with the Nepalese people. The Filipino people who have known and endured the tragic consequences of devastation and distress from destructive natural calamities now plead for Nepal for HIS refuge, consolation, strength and fortitude during these very difficult times. As we bow down and kneel before GOD’s throne of grace and mercy, let us continue to offer special prayers for Nepal’s government and nongovernment organizations, as well as the international community’s aid groups and humanitarian missions, who are working tirelessly and selflessly in a collective effort to deliver the crucial immediate rescue and support in terms of logistics and emergency response, relief and medical supplies, and emergency food, water and sanitation provisions. May GOD keep them safe and provide them continuous strength, remarkable resiliency and steadfast hope amidst the rubble and the ruins, destruction and suffering. As our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nepal, may we also concretely demonstrate and direct our renowned, proven, true and time-tested spirit of “bayanihan” at this time of great need through exemplary compassion, sacrificial service, and outpouring of generosity, assistance, support and contributions to humanitarian efforts under way in Nepal.
