It is indeed my great pleasure to welcome all of you to the website of the Philippine Embassy in Wellington, New Zealand.

Through this website, we at the Philippine Embassy, hope to reach out and become more accessible to as many Filipinos as we can all over the world specially to those residing in countries under this Embassy's jurisdiction, namely, New Zealand, the Republic of the Fiji Islands, Samoa, the Kingdom of Tonga and the Cook Islands wherein the Embassy has oversight jurisdiction. We also look forward to developing closer linkages with the peoples of these countries as they gain better access to information on the Philippines and the Embassy's various services. Let this website be our meeting ground and avenue for a healthy exchange of ideas to help us serve you even better.

The past months have shown a steady increase in the number of Filipinos arriving in New Zealand. This just shows New Zealand's growing trust and confidence in the capabilities of our skilled workforce.

Our bilateral and multilateral relations with New Zealand , the Fiji Islands, Samoa, the Kingdom of Tonga and other countries continue to flourish as we actively participate in the Pacific Islands Forum and work on various cooperation agreements with their respective governments. Our ties are becoming even stronger and meaningful as your presence in these countries makes you all the ambassadors of goodwill of the Philippines.

I therefore count on each and every one of you, my kababayans (fellow-Filipinos), to be the Embassy's partners in harnessing and further strengthening our country's relations with these friendly nations. I enjoin each one of you to give your very best in all aspects of your lives overseas. Let us proudly showcase the rich cultural heritage of our beloved country and conscientiously practice the noble traits and values our forefathers have taught us wherever we may be.
