The Embassy of the Philippines is inviting all members of the Filipino Community and friends from the international community to attend the celebration of the 110th Anniversary of Philippine Independence on 15 June 2008 (Sunday) at the Lower Hutt Horticultural Center and Town Hall, Laings Road, Lower Hutt.
Following is the schedule of the activities for the event:
10:30 a.m Welcoming of Guests at the Lower Hutt Horticultural Center 11:00 a.m. Holy Mass 12:00 nn - 1:00pm Lunch Break (Filipino food will be sold at stalls set up at the Horticultural Center) 1:00 pm Ushering of Guests to the Lower Hutt Town Hall for the Cultural Program 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm Cultural Program
In line with the celebrations, the Embassy will also hold an On-the-Spot Essay Writing Contest and an On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest on 1 June 2008 (Sunday) at the St. Bernard's College Cafeteria at 183 Waterloo Road, Lower Hutt. The contest is open to Filipinos and everyone of Filipino descent.
The winners in these contests will be recognized and awarded their prizes during the Cultural Program on 15 June 2008. All entries in the poster making contest will be displayed at the Lower Hutt Town Hall during the Program.
