Nominations are now fully open for the Year 2008 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organization overseas.
The Presidential Awards is a biennial search to recognize exceptional individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to Philippine progress and development. The Awards are also conferred on overseas Filipinos who have shown excellence and distinction in their work or profession. Instituted in 1991, it has so far been conferred on 283 overseas-based individuals and organizations.
All completed nominations from New Zealand, the Fiji Islands, Samoa , Tonga and the Cook Islands must be submitted to the Awards Committee of the Philippine Embassy in Wellington at 50 Hobson St., Thorndon, Wellington. All nominations must be received by the Embassy's Awards Committee on or before 15 April 2008 for further endorsement to the Commission on Filipinos Overseas.
