PHL AMBASSADOR CALLS ON NEW ZEALAND’S SECRETARY OF DEFENCE JOHN McKINNON

Philippine Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez accompanied by Minister Giovanni Palec called on Mr. John McKinnon, Secretary of the New Zealand at the Ministry of Defence on 10 May 2012. They acknowledged the increasing cooperation and the progress under the Mutual Assistance Programme between the Philippine and New Zealand defence ministries. Discussions focused on subsequent strategic dialogue and experts working group meetings to be held in Manila and Wellington, possible availment of training and courses on areas of interest to the Philippines and linkages with relevant agencies responsible for disaster preparedness, emergency response, maritime security and other related areas.
